Easy Daily Steps for Healthier Life! (part 2)

Life is not easy at all and sometimes it can be very stressful and hard. That's why it is very important to keep your body and mind healthy so you can easily go through the tough stuff and protect yourself. Last week I wrote the first couple of easy every day steps that I had incorporated in my routine for a healthier living. If you missed that one you can check it here.

I must say that in my personal experience (of living my life :) ) having the motivation each and every day to stay healthy and being in a good shape is strongly connected to my mood. There are these awful days when I just prefer to stay in my bed all day, do nothing, feel bad about my life and myself (for no particular reason) and with no chance to think or do anything good for my health. But when these days are gone there are the good days when I realize that taking care for myself is my main job on this planet and it is a thought that I should live every second with. That's why it was really important for me to create some everyday habits that would help me maintain my emotional and physical well-being.


5. Eat as much fruits and veggies as you can!

I can not stress enough how important it is to include fresh fruits and veggies in your daily meals. This is the best food you can give to your body. Rich in natural vitamins, minerals, fibers, water, fruits and veggies are the best way to supply your body with everything it needs to be healthy. Personally, I prefer fruits like bananas, mangoes, oranges, dates. They are sweet and refreshing, fulfilling and I can eat as much as I want because fruits are low in calories in comparison to processed food, meat and dairy. The key is to eat what you love. For me, bananas are the perfect food created ever. It is healthy, delicious, fulfilling and it is in a natural packaging :), you can always bring some banana with you for a quick snack. The other addiction I have is dates. Whenever I am craving some chocolate or something sweet, dates are my savers and, in addition to this, they are super healthy and bring huge amount of benefits to your body.

So, go find your favorite fruits and vegetables and enjoy your day!

6. Prepare your own food!

As we are on the topic of food, to have some home-cooked meal is priceless. Cooking from time to time is so much fun... cooking a few times a week maybe not so much I should say. However, it is for a good cause I promise. The temptation to buy ready meals, fast food, processed food is huge but I think that we should agree that this food as easy and delicious as it could be unhealthy and cause future heath problems if consumed regularly. The amount of additives and preservatives inside is unbelievable, and the ingredients themselves are something I cannot even read and I prefer not to put my body. I cook two to tree times a week, something relatively easy, simple but at the same time yummy. As a result, I know what I eat and the meals are freshly cooked and way cheaper than processed food.

7. Walk

I am working from home and having some physical activity during the day sometimes is mission impossible. At the same time, I am not a big fan of gym, I find it boring and totally not my thing. One thing you should know about me is that I love to do the things the easy way and even find it so exiting and creative to find my way :). That's why I love walking. I know that for myself that is the funniest, easiest and the most natural way to keep my body in a good shape. Usually, after 5 pm I go out and take a nice, long walk in the city. That way I can have some rest after the day, meet some interesting people, visit new places and "exercise" my way :). Of course, from time to time, when I feel in the right mood I go to the gym for some good jogging or I do some yoga, but walking is my "go for" activity.

8. Have some time with yourself!

Put aside some time for you every day. Have that time (at least 15 minutes) free from work and problems - just spare some time with your thoughts away from the word. This helps me a lot to organize a my thoughts and stop for a while and listen to my feelings, emotions and what i actually want. This is the time when I get most of my ideas by just letting my mind be creative- the most relaxing, energizing and motivating time of the day.

Learn to love yourself. I used to find this one of the most difficult thing to do- to free my mind of all obstacles and barriers. I was always aiming for perfection and required it from myself. I was never good enough for myself and there was always something I had to do. Learning to accept and love myself is the most relieving feeling and the start of a whole new life. Today is the most important day of your life because we never know what is going to happen tomorrow. Make sure that you love yourself as you are today. Make sure that you make yourself happy and that you do your best to make your body and mind feel healthy and the best!
